Policy Payment Opening Hours

The following conditions apply to and are deemed to be incorporated in all contracts for sale and supply of the company's services and materials.

By purchasing an item from Towequipe Limited you are agreeing to abide by the following Terms and Conditions.

Ordering from us
The placing of an order expresses acceptance of our terms and conditions of business. All prices shown include Value Added Tax (VAT) at the statutory rate current at the date of invoice. The exception to this is if the purchase is made on our trade website, VAT at the current rate will be added to prices on checkout.

Due to Systems Limitations we are unable to deduct VAT for export out of the UK.

We are only able to ship to fixed residential or business addresses to certain countries within the EU. Please check the shipping configuration on each item to see if postage is possible to your area. We are unable to ship to BFPO or PO Box addresses.

Payment and Selection of Items
Payment for items purchased through eBay must be made within 4 working days of the initial order. Accepted payment methods are shown in the both our eBay item listing and payment page on our website. Towequipe reserve the right to notify eBay of any unpaid items via any appropriate method - including the feedback system and the Non Payer system.

No goods shall pass from the company to the customer unless and until the customer has made full and complete payment to the company. If payment is not made in full and the good have been shipped then Towequipe retains title of goods. If payment is made and then is withdrawn once goods have been shipped Towequipe will seek to recover the goods or the value of the goods plus expenses. Interest will be charged at the rate of 8% above bank base rate.

It is the customers responsibility to ensure that the correct item has been chosen to fit the vehicle supplied. The make, model and year stated refer to the production run of the vehicle not the actual year of the vehicle. If clarification is required please check prior to ordering.

Within the items specifics as stated on Towequipe's website it shows detail on what is involved with the fitment of the equipment. This information is passed to us from the items manufacturer. Towequipe can not be held responsible for any inaccuracies with this data and the items fitting instructions take precedence.

We request that customers do not arrange for the fitment of the item until delivery has been made and checked to ensure that the equipment supplied is correct or not faulty in any way. 

Delivery
Normally items ordered will be dispatched on the next working day from the day ordered and sent on the delivery service selected on checkout. Working days are classed as Monday to Friday excluding Public and Bank Holidays and closure days as specified in our opening hours. The exception to this are items which are not stocked or items which specify that they are special order on the product page. You will be kept informed of the progress of your order and parcel-tracking data will be sent to you by email.

Once the item has left us we are in the hands of the carrier in order for them to attain the target delivery time. We do supply contact details for the carrier upon the order being dispatched and please contact our office if you need us to chase delivery.

IMPORTANT - IF THE ITEM IS DELIVERED DAMAGED YOU MUST SIGN FOR IT AS DAMAGED AND NOTIFY US AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

We will endeavour to deliver the goods as specified on the delivery service selected at point of order.  If the item is not delivered by our contracted carrier service within the timescales advised please advise us and we will downgrade and refund any payment to the next level of delivery service.  We would ask that you do not arrange any events that are relating to receiving the item until it is has actually been received and it has been checked fully by yourself to ensure it is intact and correct.

Returns under the DSR (Changed Mind)

Customers have 7 working days from the receipt of goods to advise that they wish to return them.  This must be done either by Email or Phone.

If you wish to return items the options are as follows.

1. You arrange for the items to be shipped back to our offices under your own method of carriage. The customer is liable for the safe transportation of the goods until they are received back at the companies office. Upon receipt of the full goods back a refund for the purchase price of the goods paid will be made back to the original method of payment. It will be accepted that the packaging will be opened however the goods must not be installed or used.


2. FOR UK ADDRESSES ONLY
We can arrange for the item to be collected from the place of delivery. There is a charge of ?25 for mainland UK except AB and IV postcodes and ?40 for all other areas. This is the pure cost of arranging for a carrier to collect the item and transport it back to us. The purchaser must ensure that they are available at the arranged date and time for collection of the item. Failure to be available will result in an abortive charge by the carrier and this will be passed onto the purchaser.

It is the responsibility of the purchaser to ensure that the items are packaged in order to protect them for the return journey. All loose components must be securely fastened. Any damage caused because of failure of this will result in the cost being deducted out of any refund due to the customer. If the item is returned used then no refund will be given.

No items for returns can be accepted at the company offices without prior agreement and without a copy of the RMA which has to be completed on our website and a link emailed to you.

We do not offer a collection under our returns policy for Roof Boxes, if you wish to return the item for any reason it is the responsibility of the customer to return it to our offices

Returns due to faulty items or incorrect items being received.

If this event please contact Towequipe's offices and we will arrange for the item to be collected.  In some cases we will request that the customer send the item back to us however we will reimburse postage costs of the cheapest method of traceable carriage.

In the event of Towequipe needing to inspect the goods in the event of a claim under the manufactures warrantee then it will be the responsibility of the end user bearing the cost of the return of the goods using the cheapest traceable method and a refund given once the goods have been inspected and verified that the fault is due to product failure.  In the event of the problem being due to misuse then it would be the responsibility of the end user to arrange collection of the goods.

Guarantee
If the item develops a fault which is covered by the manufactures guarantee and is during the manufacturers warrantee period then we will repair the item and in the event of this not being possible we will replace on a like for like basis. The company does not accept responsibility for damage to any equipment in which our products are used for the purpose other than those for which it was designed.

Privacy and Data Protection
Towequipe Limited will not share any address, contact details or payment details with any other parties.

We may contact you to advise you of any special offers. If you do not wish to receive this notification, please let us know in writing.

Policies relating to the Booking in and Installation of Towing Equipment.

When contacting us to arrange the installation of towing equipment it is the customers responsibility to ensure the correct details are given of the vehicle and the vehicle is available on the date agreed for the installation to take place.
For bookings made at our Nuneaton and Leicester branches a ?20 deposit is taken at time of booking
which is non refundable in the event of not more then 24 hours notice being given for cancellation.
We will select the best equipment in our opinion for the installation.  If you have specific needs such as not wanting your vehicle to be drilled or the bumper not to be cut please indicate this at time of booking.
We can not guarantee that a fixed towbar will not effect equipment on the vehicle such as reversing sensors.  We can advise on alternative types of towbar to avoid this problem.
We can not guarantee the towing height of the towbar once installed.  This is set by the vehicle manufacture and does vary on the model type of the vehicle.
It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the equipment installed is compatible with the items they wish to use it with.
Once the equipment has been installed the purchaser looses the right to cancel. If a fault occurs then Towequipe will within a reasonable timescale ensure that problem is rectified so long as the fault is covered under the warrantee.
Nothing in these terms will reduce your statutory rights relating to faulty or misdescribed goods. For further information about your statutory rights contact your local Trading Standards Office or Citizens Advice Bureaux.

Transit Insurance Terms and Conditions

You will have the option for a small fee to insure your package which is dispatched out from us to yourselves.

We select a number of carriers on your behalf in order to transport the package to you as quickly as possible however in the unfortunate circumstance that there is a problem this insurance will help get the problem rectified as quickly as possible.

The following terms and conditions apply and by agreed to accept the transit insurance you are agreeing to also abide by these terms and conditions.

Damage Parcels

  • If an item is received damaged we must be notified within the timescales of the Distance Selling Regulations, this can be either in writing, by email or by calling our office.
  • We will then receive a claim number from the carrier and the replacement or missing items will then be dispatched out to you upon the original item being collected.
  • If you do not purchase the transit insurance then before the replacement is sent we will need for the claim to be processed by the carrier company which will mean they have accepted they are at fault. This could take a number of weeks. Alternatively we would need the damaged item to be received back at our office for inspection before a replacement is dispatched if the transit insurance is not purchased.
  • You agree to cooperate with any investigation made by the carrier and with arranging a convenient time for the damaged item to be collected. If the carrier has been unable to collect the item from the customer due to the fault of the customer we reserve the right to charge the customer for the replacement on the original method of purchase. If paid by Paypal / Google checkout a card number will have to be taken prior to dispatching out a replacement.
Missing Parcels
  • If your parcel is missing then this will have to verify with the carrier. As soon as they issue a claims number then a replacement will be dispatched using the same service method.
  • If transit insurance is not purchased then a replacement can not be sent until the claim has been accepted and paid to Towequipe Limited.
  • If the original item has been found then it must be refused by the customer so it can be returned to sender. If it is accepted and we are informed that the customer has received both items then it has to be returned to Towequipe Limited at the customers cost or both items can be charged to the customer
Excluded from the Transit Insurance
  • Any item which has been signed for at the destination is excluded from the transit insurance. Whilst we will do everything in our power to investigate the problem until the carrier excepts liability for the parcel being miss delivered by issuing a claims number then it will be deemed that the item has been delivered and a replacement can not be sent out at the cost of Towequipe Limited.
  • Any item which is found to be faulty and the problem are not caused due to the delivery of the item.
Price Match Terms and Conditions
We actively check prices of our competitors on a constant basis however we do miss a cheaper price from time to time.

On any towbar package which is the same as we are offering we will beat that price by ?5 but this is subject to the following terms and conditions.

  • We will only price match on towbars or cycle carriers, this price match guarantee does not cover accessories or any other products featured on our website.
  • We will only price match written quotes, either stated on a genuine retailer's website or as an email quote with the competitors header included. This can include quotes by traditional high street retailers but this must be detailed on letter headed paper.
  • We will only price match on a like for like basis for example the towbar must be made by the same manufacturer and include the same accessories.
  • The item must be in stock and available at the competitor.
  • Price match does not include any prices which are offered on a trade pricing structure.
  • This is only offered on new products and does not include second hand items.
  • Items which are offered on auction websites such as Ebay are not included.

Towbars & the Law

European Law states that all light passenger vehicles registered on or after the 1st August 1998 require a type approved towbar tested to EC94120, & towball with suitable D&S value. (The correct towball will either be supplied free of charge with your towbar or can be purchased as a upgrade) This is not retrospective and does not affect any vehicle registered before this date. Other vehicles not subject to type approval are - commercial vehicles, car derived vans and motor caravans.

Quality

All towbars are designed with the aid of the latest CAD technology to fit precisely to the vehicle manufacturer's designated mounting points and are renowned for their ease of fit & unobtrusive appearance. Once the design is tested and approved to rigorous European standard EC94 / 20, it is then manufactured by our experienced production team using only certified British steel and finished in a high quality primer.

British & European Standards

All towbars comply with ISO 1102 & (BS AU 113) which specifies the dimensions & location of the towbar to ensure a safe & level towing height between 350mm & 420mm ground to centre of towball. EC94/20 the European Regulation: the towbars are totally committed to conform to this standard & continue to have a full testing program in conjunction with the Vehicle Certification Agency.
